These UP! 3D printers sell for under $1,000. They are made by Tiertime in Beijing. Here are a line of the printers being used to make ABS-plastic parts for the assembly of more printers. This makes design changes easy, says the company. It also helps the consumer as the software that comes with each machine contains the necessary design files to print out spare parts according the particular spec of the machine. Not quite self-replicating, but on the way.
